Martha Richardson, BSc, MCSP, Member of the HPC
Head Physiotherapist & Practice Owner

Martha opened Ambulant Physiotherapy in January 2005 and she has put a lot of hard work and energy into making the practice the success that it is today. Martha offers physiotherapy appointments six days a week.
Martha graduated from Coventry University in 1997. She is a chartered physiotherapist and has broad knowledge and experience from several NHS hospitals around England, and has been specialising in the musculo-skeletal field over the last 7 years. She partakes in postgraduate courses to continue her professional development, to maintain a high level of knowledge, and also to learn new treatment techniques. Recent courses include updates in acupuncture, muscle energy techniques, kinetic control and Swingbuster®. Martha is also the physiotherapist at Fulwood Army Barracks and rehabilitates the soldiers to return to their full duties. Martha frequently works with a wide variety of patients and has extensive knowledge of how best to treat a range of injuries.
Nilesh Solanki, BSc, MCSP, AACP, Member of the HPC, Member of the APPI
Physiotherapist & Pilates Teacher

Nilesh started working at Ambulant Physiotherapy in 2005 and since then he has built up a very loyal group of patients. Nilesh offers physiotherapy appointments four days a week.
Nilesh graduated from The University of East London in 2002. He is a chartered physiotherapist and, having worked in the NHS, he has developed his interest in the musculo-skeletal field, orthopaedics, sports injuries, kinetic control and neurology. Nilesh is both Bobath trained and, following a course with the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute, now teaches a Modified Pilates course at Ambulant Physiotherapy. Nilesh works with patients of all ages and treats a variety of injuries including musculo-skeletal, occupational and sports injuries. His knowledge and range of treatments aid in functional rehabilitation to return to work or to sporting activities and to promote normal movement.
Lynley Eason
Physiotherapist. BPhty MCSP Member of the HPC

Lynley is from New Zealand and completed her training at The University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand in 2001. After a year of working in New Zealand and gaining experience in all areas of Physiotherapy she came to England to work. Since then she has worked for 4 and a half years in Paediatric Physiotherapy in the NHS. This included work in special schools, mainstream schools, with pre-school children and children with long-term disabilities. More recently, she have trained with the APPI to become a Pilates Instructor and has been teaching Pilates at Ambulant since January 2008. She has also updated her skills in Musculoskeletal and sports injuries through short courses. When not at Ambulant she lectures in Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University and has also been involved in Research.
She offers appointments on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Her main area of interest is neurology, paediatrics, pilates and the upper quadrant - shoulders, upper back and neck.
Judith Mather
Physiotherapist. MCSP HPC registered.

Judith qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the Royal Liverpool School of Physiotherapy in 1978. She began her professional career at Wrightington Hospital gaining valuable experience in Orthopaedics. After working overseas for a number of years Judith returned to Preston to take a post at Fulwood Hall Hospital. She continued to pursue a career in Orthopaedics with a strong focus on pre and post operative management for patients undergoing joint replacements and cruciate ligament reconstructions. She progressed to become the Manager of the Physiotherapist Department with responsibility for the Moving and Handling Training within the hospital. Over the past 8 years, Judith has continued in the Private Sector providing holistic treatment and management for patients with a variety of musculo-skeletal and sporting injuries. Her areas of special clinical interest are spinal and upper limb dysfunction and rehabilitation.
Jill Billington
Physiotherapist. MSc., MCSP, AACP, Member of the HPC, Member of the APPI Chartered Physiotherapist & Pilates Teacher.

Jill qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the Royal Liverpool School of Physiotherapy in 1978. Initially working within the NHS, Jill later established her own private practice in 1986 until 2005 working around her family commitments. As the family grew up, Jill then returned to work as a full time NHS employee, in 2005, at a local NHS Hospital Trust, specialising in the assessment and treatment of patients with Spinal and Chronic Pain problems. She became a member of the APPI (Australian Pilates Physiotherapy Institute), having completed her Pilates training in 2005, and she also continued studying, graduating with an MSc in Pain/Pain Management, from the University of Central Lancashire, in the summer of 2008. Jill thoroughly enjoys teaching Pilates, and takes classes on Wednesday evenings at Ambulant.
Phillipa Walsh
Physiotherapist. M.C.S.P., H.P.C., AACP.

Philippa is a very experienced Physiotherapist whose career in Physiotherapy has always involved the treatment of muscle, joint disorders and she has had a particular interest in the treatment of sports injuries and children. Philippa is trained in the use of acupuncture for pain relief and treats injuries at all stages through to advance rehabilitation for sports. As a keen sports participant and particularly her high level of competition in distance running gives her the insight necessary to rehabilitate the whole sports person. ' |
